Thermal Hydra Plastics is a Woodinville, Washington, based company who manufactures portable electric spas. Thermal Hydra Plastics sold or offered for sale 68 portable electric spas in California, during the time period of January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2017.

This case was a result of California Energy Commission (Commission) staff research. The Commission's investigation process identified Thermal Hydra Plastics manufacturing and offering for sale portable electric spas not being certified to the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database).

To settle this matter, Thermal Hydra Plastics executed a Settlement Agreement with the Commission on February 8, 2018, for $34,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011(Pavley). Thermal Hydra Plastics has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify each basic model to the Database before continuing to sell into California.
