Titan Products LLC (Titan) is a Costa Mesa, California, based company that manufactures portable air conditioners. Titan sold or offered for sale portable air conditioners in California, from February 2020 to July 2021.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC's investigation and testing process identified that Titan was manufacturing and offering for sale portable air conditioners that were not properly certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Titan executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on October 20, 2021, for $8,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Titan has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of all non-compliant products in California and remove the improperly certified models from MAEDbS.
