ViprTech is a company that manufactures computers based in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. ViprTech sold or offered for sale desktop computers in California, from February 2021 to February 2025.

This case was the result of a complaint. The California Energy Commission’s investigation and testing process identified that ViprTech was manufacturing and offering for sale desktop computers that did not meet the efficiency standard, were not marked properly, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To resolve this matter, ViprTech executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on July 22, 2026, for $80,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code section 25402.11. ViprTech has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models, add the appropriate marking, and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
