W Appliance Company LLC (W Appliance) is a company that manufactures refrigeration products based in New York, New York. W Appliance sold or offered for sale freezers in California, from January 2021 to January 2025.

This case was the result of a complaint. CEC’s process identified that W Appliance was manufacturing and offering for sale Commercial Cool brand freezers that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To resolve this matter, W Appliance executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on December 5, 2025, for $24,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code 25402.11. W Appliance has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
