Water Pik, Inc. (Water Pik) is a Fort Collins, Colorado, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. Water Pik sold or offered for sale plumbing fittings in California, from July 2016 to March 2020.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC's investigation and testing process identified that Water Pik was manufacturing and offering for sale plumbing fittings that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Water Pik executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on December 17, 2020, for $38,962.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Water Pik has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove the non-compliant models from the California market. For models Water Pik intends to continue selling in California, they agree to ensure all models meet the efficiency standard and are certified to MAEDbS.
