Wenzhou Yunduo Sanitary Ware Technology, Company Limited (Yunduo), a China based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. Yunduo sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets and showerheads in California, from March 2019 to March 2023.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Yunduo was manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets and showerheads that failed the marking requirement and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Yunduo executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on November 16, 2023, for $20,200.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Yunduo has also agreed to a compliance plan to add the appropriate marking and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
