Westbrass Company Incorporated (Westbrass) is a company that manufactures plumbing fittings based in Los Angeles, California. Westbrass sold or offered for sale lavatory faucets, showerheads, and tub spout diverters in California, from March 2019 to January 2024.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Westbrass was manufacturing and offering for sale lavatory faucets, showerheads, and tub spout diverters that were not marked properly and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To resolve this matter, Westbrass executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on February 19, 2025, for $14,808.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount as required in Public Resources Code 25402.11. Westbrass has also agreed to a compliance plan to add the appropriate marking and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
