White’s Plumbing Supplies, Inc. (White’s) is a West Haven, Connecticut based company that manufactures plumbing fittings and plumbing fixtures. White’s sold or offered for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, showerheads, and water closets in California, from September 2017 to September 2021.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that White’s was manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen faucets, lavatory faucets, showerheads, and water closets that failed the marking requirement and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, White’s executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on August 11, 2022, for $55,748.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). White’s has also agreed to a compliance plan to add the appropriate marking and test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
