Wiser Living is a Paramount, California, based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. Wiser Living sold or offered for sale showerheads in California, from August 2018 to February 2021.

This case was the result of an industry complaint. The California Energy Commission's (CEC) investigation and testing process identified that Wiser Living was manufacturing and offering for sale showerheads that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Wiser Living executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on July 27, 2021, for $9,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Wiser Living has also agreed to a compliance plan to remove non-compliant products from the California market. Wiser Living also agrees to add the appropriate marking and test and certify all models to MAEDbS if they resume sales in California.
