XLS Products Inc. (XLS) is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, based company who manufactures room a/c units and dehumidifiers. Philadelphia sold or offered for sale room a/c units and dehumidifiers in California, during the time period of July 1, 2015 to July 20, 2017.

This case was a result of research conducted by California Energy Commission (Commission) staff. The Commission's investigation process identified XLS manufacturing and offering for room a/c units and dehumidifiers not certified to the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database).

To settle this matter, XLS executed a Settlement Agreement with the Commission on March 9, 2018, for $43,500.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011(Pavley). XLS has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify each basic model to the Database before continuing to sell into California.
