Please join us for an upcoming Demand Analysis Working Group (DAWG) meeting on July 15, 2021 from 1:00-5:00pm to review and discuss inputs and assumptions for the 2021 Transportation Energy Demand Forecast (TEDF).

 

Staff will solicit feedback on preliminary medium- and heavy-duty vehicle attributes as well as fueling infrastructure costs. Next, staff will present and request input on their current assessment of travel demand recovery from COVID. The hydrogen fuel price forecast will then be discussed. Lastly, a presentation from California High Speed Rail will provide an overview of their project and future role in California’s transportation system.

 

Energy Commission staff will facilitate discussion on the topics listed below. During the meeting, attendees are encouraged to ask questions, offer other resources, and provide critical feedback.

 

  • Preliminary medium- and heavy-duty vehicle attributes, including updates
    • Vehicle prices
    • Fuel economy
    • Fueling infrastructure costs
  • Travel demand recovery from COVID-19
  • Hydrogen fuel price forecast
  • California High Speed Rail
    • Travel mode impact
