Please join us for an upcoming Demand Analysis Working Group (DAWG) meeting on Friday February 28, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, where staff will provide an overview of the Demand Flexibility Tool (“D-Flex Tool”) customized for the setting of California’s Load Shift Goal (LSG) under Senate Bill (SB) 846 (Dodd, Chapter 239, Statutes of 2022) and further expanded for use in developing Demand Scenario Sensitivities to support Senate Bill 100 (De Léon, Chapter 312, Statutes of 2018) work in 2024. The meeting will be held via webinar-only.
The key topics of discussion for this DAWG meeting will be:
- The design of the D-Flex Tool to determine the potential capacity that could be shifted away from “System Net Peak hours” in a given target year. Staff will present inputs, assumption, and key calculations, along with scenario outputs from LSG development in 2023.
- The expansion to D-Flex PCM Tool, which generates potentials for each hour of a year or series of years for use in a Production Cost Model (PCM). Inputs, assumption, and key calculations will be presented, as well as outputs from the Demand Scenarios used to support SB 100 in 2024.
- Staff will present additional uses of and possible enhancements to the tool. Staff will also highlight and open for discussion inputs, assumptions, and approaches to their continuous updates.
- Desire for stakeholder engagement and next steps.
An agenda and materials will be posted in advance of the webinar to the DAWG webpage. Future meeting announcements will be sent only to the Demand Analysis Working Group list. Use the link above to subscribe.
