Please join us for an upcoming Demand Analysis Working Group (DAWG) meeting on Wednesday, July 16, from 1:00pm-5:00pm, to discuss California Energy Demand Forecast updates for economic and demographic inputs and methodology for forecasting data centers. The meeting will be hybrid with options to attend either in-person or by webinar. The meeting will be held in conference room 2-301 on the second floor of the California Natural Resources Agency building located at 715 P Street, Sacramento, CA. Zoom information is at the bottom of this notice.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to ask questions and provide critical feedback on the topics below. Suggestions for additional relevant topics or questions about the topics below are welcome, though may not be addressed at this upcoming meeting.
The key topics of discussion for this DAWG meeting will be:
- Updated economic and demographic projections
- Forecasting data centers
- CEC recap of 2024 IEPR data center forecast and challenges
- CAISO overview of integrating data center forecasts into transmission planning
- Presentations from multiple utilities on:
- Queues and timelines
- Mid- and long-term methodology and scenarios
- Planning approaches at the transmission, distribution, and system levels
