CA Energy Demand Forecast: Inputs and Assumptions

Please join us for an upcoming Demand Analysis Working Group (DAWG) meeting on Friday, August 14, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The meeting will discuss inputs and assumptions for these 2026 IEPR forecast components:

• Economic and demographic projections
• Historical electricity sales and consumption
• Behind-the-Meter (BTM) PV and storage
  • Updated historical BTM PV and storage adoption trends
  • Proposed forecast scenarios
• Additional Achievable Energy Efficiency (AAEE) & Additional Achievable Fuel Substitution (AAFS)
  • Updates to zero-emission AAFS scenarios
  • Proposed addition of more industrial electrification to AAFS Scenario 6
• Transportation Energy Demand Forecast
  • Baseline forecast
  • Additional Achievable Transportation Electrification scenarios
