Please join us for an upcoming Demand Analysis Working Group (DAWG) meeting related to the California Energy Demand 2020-2030 forecast update (CEDU 2020) to be held on October 29, 2020 from 2:00pm-4:00pm

Energy Commission staff are currently in the process of updating the California Energy Demand 2019-2030 (CED 2019) electricity demand forecast adopted as part of the 2019 Integrated Energy Policy Report. Staff wish to review and discuss technical elements of this work with stakeholders in preparation for a public workshop on December 3.

Energy Commission staff will make presentations on the topics listed below. During the meeting, stakeholders are encouraged to ask questions and offer critical feedback

  • Review of methods and economic/demographic scenario
  • 2020 summer loads, weather, and peak load normalization
  • Partial and preliminary impacts on consumption, hourly and peak forecasts by IOU planning area and customer sector

This meeting will not cover impacts related to self-generation or transportation electrification. These elements of the forecast are also being updated and will be reviewed with DAWG at a later date.

An agenda and materials will be posted in advance of the October 29 webinar to the DAWG webpage: https://www.energy.ca.gov/programs-and-topics/topics/energy-assessment/demand-analysis-working-group-dawg.

The workshop will be held via webinar-only.
