California Energy Commission (CEC) staff will host a two-day virtual forum to highlight lessons learned and explore opportunities to further develop innovative technologies for accelerating medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) vehicle electrification.

This technical forum is part of the CEC’s administration of the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC). Through EPIC, the CEC invests more than $130 million annually in new technology breakthroughs to transform the electricity sector to meet California’s energy and climate policy goals and bring increased benefits to electric ratepayers in the state’s three largest investor-owned utilities – Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), and San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E).

A quorum of commissioners from the CEC and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) may participate, but no votes will be taken.

The forum will be held remotely, consistent with Executive Order N-08-21 to continue to help California respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the direction in the executive order.
