CA Energy Demand Forecast: Climate Change Methodology Improvements

To interested parties:

Please join us for an upcoming Demand Analysis Working Group (DAWG) meeting on Thursday June 1, from 2:00-4:00 pm, to discuss climate change methodology improvements for the California Energy Demand Forecast. The meeting will be held via webinar-only.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to ask questions and provide critical feedback on the topics below. Suggestions for additional topics or questions about the topics below are welcome though may not be addressed at this upcoming meeting.

The key topics of discussion for this DAWG meeting will be:

• Overview of forecast improvements for 2023
• Overview of state-funded climate research supporting energy planning
• Improvements to capturing climate change impacts in the 2023 IEPR forecast
• Longer-term recommendations for improving how climate change is captured in the forecast
