An Acceptance Test Technician (ATT) performs Acceptance Tests to ensure Building Energy Efficiency Standards compliance for lighting controls and mechanical systems in nonresidential buildings. ATTs are trained and certified by an Acceptance Test Technician Certification Provider (ATTCP). All lighting controls acceptance tests are required to be performed by certified ATTs. However, at this time, mechanical acceptance tests may be performed by the installing technician. There are also acceptance testing requirements for the building envelope and covered processes, but ATT certification does not apply to the technicians conducting testing for those systems or components.
Note that there are no Residential Energy Standards compliance requirements for this topic.
