A covered process (CP) is a type of process that has specific Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Energy Code) requirements. While a process is an activity or treatment of a building for purposes that do not relate to human occupancy, related to space conditioning, lighting, service water heating, or ventilation, a covered process builds upon the process definition with more specific applicable criteria. These criteria can be found within the Energy Code's definitions and can encompass processes serving data centers, compressed air systems, as well as many others.
Note that there are no Residential Energy Code compliance requirements for this topic.
