Electrical Power Distribution (EPD) systems are non-lighting specific systems. The EPD requirements in the Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Energy Standards) were added in the 2013 Energy Standards code cycle. Items covered by EPD requirements include service electrical metering, electrical circuits for electrical energy monitoring, circuit controls, voltage drop, and demand responsive controls and equipment. When these systems are installed, they must comply with the Energy Standards to ensure energy efficient operation.
Note that there are no Residential Energy Standards compliance requirements for this topic.
