The Residential Solar Permit Annual Reporting dashboard provides a visual that shows the total number of photovoltaic (PV) solar permits issued – both overall and online – as well as PV paired with storage (PV + storage) permits issued during a given reporting year. The dashboard includes the top three jurisdictions with the most online permits reported in the previous year.

This dashboard is updated regularly as jurisdictions submit their annual reports through the CEC's data portal. Data is stored for all required reporting years, from 2022 through 2033. As defined in SB 379, cities, counties, or city and county, must report annually to the CEC within one year of implementing an online, automated solar permitting system, and must continue reporting through June 30, 2034.

Please visit Residential Solar Permit Reporting Program - SB 379 for more information.

Dashboard is best viewed from a computer. Visit Tableau for the full page layout of dashboard or download data, or return to dashboard collection page. Note: download data is updated monthly, however, the dashboard data is updated automatically with data portal information.
