California Energy Commission (CEC) staff will host a one-day technical forum to highlight innovative new clean energy technologies that can help improve the resiliency of California’s electricity sector to climate change impacts and extreme weather events. This technical forum is part of the CEC’s administration of the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC). The CEC and California Public Utilities Commission commissioners may attend. Through EPIC, the CEC invests more than $130 million annually in new technology breakthroughs to transform the electricity sector to meet California’s energy and climate policy goals and bring increased benefits to electric ratepayers in the state’s three largest investor-owned utilities – Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, and San Diego Gas & Electric Company.
