Work Group Meeting #1 to Discuss Senate Bill (SB) 114 Funding for Zero-Emission School Buses and Infrastructure

The California Energy Commission (CEC) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) invite you to participate in the first public work group meeting to discuss funding for zero-emission school buses and infrastructure made available by Senate Bill (SB) 114 (Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review, Chapter 48, Statutes of 2023). The CEC and CARB anticipate holding additional public work group meetings in the future.

SB 114 appropriated a total of $500 million to the CEC and CARB for the 2023-2024 fiscal year to fund zero-emission school buses and supporting infrastructure through grants awarded to local educational agencies. The CEC and CARB have named this appropriation the “Zero Emission School Bus and Infrastructure” (ZESBI) grants. At this work group meeting, staff will discuss available funding, program priorities, proposed award timeline, and how to stay informed on future ZESBI developments. The presentation will be posted to CARB’s Low Carbon Transportation Incentives webpage, and the CEC’s Docket Page.

The public can participate in the work group meeting consistent with the attendance instructions below. The CEC and CARB aim to begin promptly at the start time posted and the end time is an estimate based on the proposed agenda. The work group meeting may end sooner or later than the posted end time.

To participate in the work group meeting, please register before 9:00 am on December 5th, 2023. Visit Webinar Registration - Zoom to register for the meeting.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information to join the webinar meeting either through a computer, digital device or via conference line. Each meeting link in the confirmation email is unique so please do not share it with others. Every person that wishes to participate needs to register separately and use the unique link sent to them to access the webinar meeting. Please note that there is no in-person attendance option for this meeting. This meeting will be recorded. A link to the recording and a list of work group attendees will be available two weeks after the meeting date on the CARB’s Low Carbon Transportation Incentives webpage and on the CEC’s Docket Page.
