2022 Energy Code Pre-Rulemaking - Multifamily Restructuring Workshop

Comment Period Extension to Friday, March 12, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a remote-access workshop to present and obtain public comment on proposed changes to restructure and place a new focus on the code requirements for multifamily buildings for the 2022 update of the Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Energy Code).

The workshop will also address proposed changes to nonresidential economizer requirements, and alternative compliance method (ACM) approval manual, and data registry provisions. The workshop will be held remotely, consistent with Executive Orders N-25-20 and N-29-20 and the recommendations from the California Department of Public Health to encourage physical distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19. The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the direction in these Executive Orders. The workshop is being held to encourage and enable public comment.
