Add to CalendarCalifornia Energy Commission (CEC) staff will host a workshop to solicit comments on the proposed Guidelines for Residential Solar Permit Reporting – SB 379, which were developed pursuant to Senate Bill (SB) 379 (Wiener, Chapter 356, Statutes of 2022) related to compliance reporting requirements for residential solar energy system permitting. SB 379 establishes requirements for most California cities and counties to implement an online, automated permitting platform that verifies code compliance and issues permits in real time for residential solar energy systems, including those paired with energy storage. SB 379 requires the CEC to develop guidelines for cities and counties to report annually on the number of permits issued for residential solar energy systems and other relevant characteristics of those systems.
The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the attendance instructions below. The CEC aims to begin promptly at the start time, and the end time is an estimate based on the proposed agenda. The workshop may end sooner or later than the posted end time.
