Lead Commissioner overseeing this proceeding:

Assembly Bill 118 (Núñez, Chapter 750, Statutes of 2007), created the Clean Transportation Program (formally known as the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program). The statute, reauthorized by AB 8 (Perea, Chapter 401, Statutes of 2013), authorizes the California Energy Commission to develop and deploy alternative and renewable fuels and advanced transportation technologies to help meet the state's goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and petroleum dependence in the transportation sector.
The Clean Transportation Program invests up to $100 million annually in a broad portfolio of fuel and transportation projects throughout the state. The program’s annual investment plan update establishes funding priorities for the coming fiscal year.
