The California Energy Commission invites interested stakeholders to submit comments regarding the proposed air filters standard. The proposed standards allow manufacturers to choose one size filter for testing and update the testing requirements to the newest version of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard 52.2 and the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Standard 680 test procedures. The proposal would also update the certification requirements and marking requirements to specify a scaling approach for each test procedure. The proposed changes are not expected to yield any additional costs or benefits to the original 2015 rulemaking. Standards would take effect a year after adoption.
