Student Jobs at the California Energy Commission

Consider working in downtown Sacramento to influence state energy policy in the areas of energy efficiency, research, transportation, and renewables. The Energy Commission offers students paid opportunities in a variety of fields.

The Energy Commission is interested in recruiting the best candidates and has student positions for a variety of majors. Positions range from nontechnical (for example, those with communications, business, law or public policy majors) to budding engineers (for example, those with engineering, math or science majors).

The Commission contracts with UEI to recruit, place and pay students from a variety of disciplines throughout the 600-person organization.

Who Can Apply?

  • UEI Employment Eligibility (PDF)
  • Undergraduate students: Enrolled in a minimum of six semester units or nine quarter units.
  • Graduate students: Enrolled in four semester units or six quarter units.
