California Energy Commission (CEC) staff will host a remote-access scoping workshop to solicit feedback on a draft concept for the BESTFIT Innovative Charging Solutions solicitation.

Staff has released a “Draft Solicitation Concept” document, which details the concept under
consideration for a competitive grant solicitation to be issued by the CEC’s Clean Transportation Program. The solicitation is dubbed Built-Environment Electrification Solutions & Form Factors for Fitting Infrastructure to Transportation (BESTFIT) Innovative Charging Solutions. It will fund projects for transformative technology solutions for electric vehicle (EV) charging for both light-duty and medium- and heavy-duty (MD/HD) applications. The purpose of this solicitation is to demonstrate new technologies or business models that highlight innovative charging solutions and form factors that are the “best fit” for the local built environment, use case, and vehicle.

The workshop will be held remotely, consistent with Executive Orders N-25-20 and N-29-20 and the recommendations from the California Department of Public Health to encourage physical distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19. The public can participate and observe the workshop consistent with the direction in these Executive Orders. Instructions for remote participation are below.
