Lead Commissioner Workshop on SB 846 Preliminary Load Shift Goal

The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a workshop in collaboration with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) to present and seek comments from stakeholders and interested parties on the preliminary load shift goal and forthcoming preliminary report to reduce net peak electrical demand as required by Senate Bill 846, Dodd, 2022 (SB 846). A quorum of CEC commissioners, CPUC commissioners, and CAISO board members may participate, but no votes will be taken. If CPUC commissioners are present at the workshop, the CPUC’s rules governing ex parte contacts with commissioners and their staff remain in effect even though this is a CEC-initiated and noticed workshop.

The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the attendance instructions below. The CEC aims to begin promptly at the start time posted and the end time is an estimate based on the proposed agenda. The workshop may end sooner or later than the posted end time.
