Electric Vehicle Charging Load Estimation Toolset for California Utilities Workshop

The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a workshop to showcase an electric vehicle charging load estimation modeling framework and toolset that is being jointly developed with research staff from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). During the workshop, CEC and PNNL staff will present technical details of the model’s methodology and demo a prototype version of an interactive web tool they are developing for use by publicly owned utility (POU) grid planning staff. CEC staff will also discuss how PNNL’s work is connected to the Electric Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE) Deployment and Grid Evaluation (EDGE) mapping and visualization tool (EDGE tool). This workshop is designed specifically for POU distribution planning staff and will include a request for feedback and assistance.
 

The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the attendance instructions below. The CEC aims to begin promptly at the start time posted and the end time is an estimate based on the proposed agenda. The workshop may end sooner or later than the posted end time.
