The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a workshop to discuss and solicit feedback on staff’s current proposed program design for the Building Initiative for Low-Emissions Development (BUILD) Program, authorized by Senate Bill (SB) 1477 (Stern, Chapter 378, Statutes of 2018) and overseen by the California Public Utilities Commission. The workshop and public comment will inform the development of guidelines for the BUILD program. The recently adopted Assembly Bill 137 and Public Resources Code section 25403.2, which authorized funding for a market-rate residential building program, will not be discussed at this workshop.

A quorum of CEC Commissioners may participate, but no votes will be taken.

The workshop will be held remotely, consistent with Executive Order N-08-21 to continue to help California respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The public may participate consistent with the direction in the Executive Order. There will be opportunities for public comment. Instructions for remote participation via Zoom are below.
