Electric Ready

The Energy Code requires some buildings to provide infrastructure for future installation of electric appliances and systems to eventually replace gas systems.

These mandatory electric-ready requirements apply to newly constructed single-family and multifamily buildings that will use gas for cooking, clothes drying, and space heating. These requirements also apply to some newly constructed commercial kitchens that use gas for cookline appliances.
