The INDIGO program is established by Assembly Bill 209 (Chapter 251, Statutes of 2021) and funds financial incentives for industry projects that demonstrate significant benefits to the electrical grid, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, achieve California’s clean energy goals, and exceed compliance requirements.
Projects that benefit an oil or gas production, processing, or refining facility are not eligible.
The INDIGO Program is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment—particularly in disadvantaged communities.
