Through the Clean Transportation Program (also known as the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program), the California Energy Commission awarded $2.7 million to the city of Gardena’s GTrans agency to conduct a battery-electric repower bus demonstration project on existing bus routes serving economically disadvantaged communities in Gardena.
