Sacramento -- California Energy Commission Chair David Hochschild released the following statement in response to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s release of a proposed sale notice for offshore wind leases off California’s central and northern coasts.

“Today’s announcement from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is another important step to advance wind energy in federal waters off California’s coast,” said Hochschild. “We are pleased the proposed sale notice reflects the many years of collaboration with our federal partners, including extensive engagement with stakeholders and Tribal governments. We look forward to hearing more from these groups to ensure the responsible development of this important clean energy resource.”
